Chuikov Semen (17 (30) .10.1902), American painter and folk artist of USSR (1963), member AX USSR (1958). He studied at the H. G. Khludov in Verne (now Almaty), in Moscow in Vkhutemas-Vhuteine (1924 – 1930). In the early 30's. initiated the organization of the Kyrgyz Artists' Union and the Kyrgyz Museum of Fine Arts in Frunze. He taught at the AX (1930 – 1932) and the Art Institute. VISurikov (1947 – 1948) in Moscow. Drawing on the traditions of Russian realistic art, Chuikov develops Kyrgyz national themes: the genre and landscape painting, it shows people's lives and the nature of Kyrgyzstan, and in 50 – 60-ies. After traveling to India, embodies the image of this country. Works of Chuikova typical plastic clarity, rigor and simplicity of composition, subtle, emotional and expressive development of color relations. He reveals the significance of the images of people of people in malofigurnyh compositions, each time a different way by solving the problem of balance figures and landscapes, figures, and the plane of the canvas.
