Federico Fellini (Fellini) (20.01.1920 – 31.10.1993), Italian film director and screenwriter.
In the cinema since 1942, first as an author of stories and scripts, took part in the creation of neorealist film "Rome – Open City" (1945), etc.
The first directorial work (author of the libretto and co-writer) – "The White Sheik" (1952), "mama's boy" (1953). The painting "The Road" (1954, in the Soviet hire "They wandered on the roads") brought Fellini and starring singer J. Mazin world fame. This film parable, where most clearly voiced characteristic director Theme disunity of people in bourgeois society.
"Nights of Cabiria" (1956) and subsequent paintings Fellini makes them more emotional impact, reflect the contrasts of the modern Western world, deeply and subtly reveals the essence of human behavior. At the same time in a number of his films sometimes burst of irrational, religious motives, notes forgiveness. Sometimes they form relatively complicated, dominates abstract approach to reality.
The most socially tapered film "La Dolce Vita" (1959). Among the works: "Eight and a half" (1962, Main Prize of the 3rd International Film Festival in Moscow), "Juliet of the Spirits" (1965), a novel adaptation of Petronius' "Satyricon" (1969), "Clowns" (1970, TV movie) "Rome" (1972),.
In 1974, Fellini on the novel, set up jointly with T. Guerra, directed the film "Amarcord" ("I remember"), which is particularly evident autobiographical motifs, all the inherent creativity of the director. For the first time his picture is a clear political overtones – means satire ruthlessly exposes the Italian fascism, his cruelty, demagogic propaganda.
Fellini's works were awarded prizes in many international festivals.
