Jesuit Nikolai Mikhailovich (1899 – 1941). Born 1899, died (killed in action) 1941. The Soviet film scholar, film historians as the founding father of national cinema studies. As a Head of Section of cinema studies GAIS (1932-36), Chair of History of Cinema Film Institute (since 1936).
