Canaletto Giovanni Antonio (Canaletto) (its own channel, Canal) (18.10.1697 – 20.04.1768), Italian painter. Master of Landscape Architecture (so-called. Veduta).

He studied with his father – a theater artist Bernardo Channels. He worked mainly in Venice and in Rome (1719-20 and ca. 1740) and London (1745-55). Experienced it influence the Venetian landscape Karlevarisa L. and M. Ricci. He painted landscapes, panorama, mainly depicting architectural ensembles and monuments of Venice, filling them with colorful scenes of urban life, as well as the types of England.

Combined in their works document the accuracy of the figure and the perfection of long-term construction with elegance and freshness of color, light and air effects, as well as grand entertainment composite solutions. Performed many landscape etchings, marked direct observation, light black and white shades (series "conduct", 1740-44). Canaletto was a pupil of his nephew Bellotto BA, inherited the nickname teachers.
