Chagall, Mark Z. (07.07.1887 – 28.03.1985) was born in Vitebsk, where he began to receive the first lessons of painting in the workshop of Peng and later studied at the St. Petersburg school Zvantseva by L. Bakst. In 1908, Chagall became acquainted with the work of Post-Impressionists, and later with the work of Pablo Picasso. All this probably explains the appearance of several works of Chagall, angular shapes, intricate and unusual coloring. In 1910, Chagall lived in Paris where he exhibits his work in the Salon d'Automne and the Salon of Independent. In 1914, Chagall goes solo exhibition in Berlin. In the same year, Chagall returned to Vitebsk. In 1915 Marc Chagall called to the army, he served in Petrograd. " In 1917, again returned to Vitebsk and becomes a commissar of the provincial department of education. In 1919, Marc Chagall created head of the Vitebsk folk art school. In this school taught KS Malevich, MV Dobuzhinski, IA Puni. In the same 1919 Chagall left for Moscow. There he worked till 1922 in the State Jewish Chamber Theater. In 1922, Chagall left for exile, first in Berlin and then Paris. In 1937 Marc Chagall taking French citizenship. In 1941 he went to the U.S. next year goes to Mexico, where he worked on creating the scenery for the ballet Aleko. In 1948 Chagall returned to France and moved near Paris, in Orazhevale. Two years later, moved to Nice, where he buys a villa. Chagall worked not only paintings, but also other forms of art. They were the establishment of 12 stained glass work depicting the tribe of Israel. These works were installed in the synagogue of the Jewish University near Jerusalem. In 1964. Chagall worked on painting the ceiling of the Paris Opera and in 1966 they were made by two panels for Opera in New York. In 1966, Chagall moved to St. Paul de Vence. In 1973, at the invitation of the Ministry of Culture of the USSR Marc Chagall arrives on a visit to Moscow and Leningrad. Chagall died March 28, 1985 in France, in Saint-Paul de Vence.
