Otto Vielman (24/04/1839 – 07/01/1920), a German teacher, a follower of Herbart IV. In 1857-63 he studied at the universities of Breslau (Wroclaw) and Berlin, specializing in pedagogy in Leipzig. Nearly 10 years he lived in Vienna. In 1872-1903 Professor of the Prague German University. Vielman – founder of the Christian Union of Pedagogy (1907). Vielman shared pedagogy for the historical, theoretical and practical. The main function of education, he believed the transfer from generation to generation "eternal ideas" and the cultural and historical traditions, which are the focus of religious and ethical standards in the spirit of Catholicism. The learning process should, in his opinion, to conform not only with psychology students, but also with the logic of subjects, reflecting the "eternal ideas". Assuming that the level of education suffer gerbartovskie unclear definitions and confusion of logical and psychological concepts, Vielman said instead of the three stages of learning (perception, comprehension, application), each of which must conform to a particular form of training.
