Robert Hubert (05/22/1733 – 15/04/1808), French painter. He worked in Paris. In 1754 – 1765 he lived in Italy. Member of the Royal Academy of Painting and Sculpture (from 1767) and honorary free obschnik Arts in St. Petersburg (from 1802). Member of the reconstruction of the park of Versailles (1775), curator of the Louvre (from 1784). Experienced it influence JB Piranesi. Works of Robert, depicting mainly ancient ruins, park views, as well as various events from the life in Paris, are rich in imagination, the subtlety of light and aerial perspective, living genre scenes, presented in a deliberate contrast with the grandiose architecture, contribute to the landscape elements of rococo Robert Leath.: Dyakov LA, Hubert Robert, M., 1971; Leclere T., Hubert Robert et les paysagistes francais du XVIII siecle, P., 1913.
