Polignot – Greek painter, a native of the island Fazosa, a disciple of his father Aglaofona, about 462 PM, at the invitation of Cimon, arrived in Athens, where he, along with other artists, has been charged with painting the walls Stoa poiklh (see Athens, II, 572) as well as temples Dioscuri and hostel.
