Roubaud, Franz A. (05 (17) .06.1856 – 03.13.1928), Russian painter battle-. Attended the art school in Odessa (since 1865) and the Academy of Arts in Munich (since 1877). Hab Chap. way in St. Petersburg in 1913 – in Germany. He taught at the St. Petersburg Academy of Arts (1904 – 1912). Among the students – MB Greek, MI Avilov, PI Kotov. Working mainly in the field of panoramic painting, created a grand-scale works marked with documentary fidelity of historical events. Panorama: "Assault aul Ahulgo" (1896, not preserved), "Defense of Sevastopol" (1902 – 1904, Sevastopol, opened in 1905 and in 1941 – 1942 damaged the defense of Sevastopol during the Great Patriotic War, recreated by a group of Soviet artists and re-opened 1954), "The Battle of Borodino" (1911, opened in 1912 in Moscow, has been restored and placed in Moscow in a specially constructed building on Kutuzovsky Prospect, 1962).
