Vilkas Eduardas Ionovich (10/03/1935) – Soviet mathematician and economist, academician of the Academy of Sciences (1985; Corresponding Member 1981). Born in Gargzhdie Lithuanian SSR. He graduated from Vilnius Univ (1958), Doctor of Physical and Mathematical Sciences, Professor (1976). He worked at the Institute of Mathematics and Cybernetics of the Academy of Sciences, 1985 – Director of the Institute of Economics. Major works on game theory and mathematical economics. Honored Scientist of the Lithuanian SSR (1981). State Prize of the Lithuanian SSR (1977).
